The Keratin Blow Dry
Extremely nourishes and strengthens your hair, leaving it with the ultimate shine for 3 to 4 months, depending on the individual. It reduces static electricity in the hair and water absorption, protecting it from humidity, salt water and rain - meaning no more frizz! The product contains pure keratin, which is a natural component of hair, skin and nails. It is enriched with 24 carat gold, which leaves your hair straight, smoothed, soft and ultra-shiny without any stress. It can be applied on all hair types. The hair becomes straighter due to being extremely conditioned. This allows for faster blow drying time, which minimises heat damage during styling. Some of our clients achieve a straight blow dry at home with just a vented paddle brush after the treatment. That’s before hair straighteners have even worked their magic for that perfect finish.
Gold Keratin does not contain formaldehyde or any harmful allergens; it is therefore safe to use whilst pregnant.
The Procedure
The keratin gold treatment seals the hair cuticle with a coating of protein that eliminates frizz, and adds softness, condition and therefore shiny straight hair. The process can take anywhere between 1.5 and 3.5 hours depending on hair type, length, and fullness. Before the treatment, the hair is thoroughly shampooed with a deep cleanser to open the cuticles and strip any oils and product residue. Once the hair is shampooed and blow dried, it is sectioned and the Keratin product is applied to sub-sections from root to ends, while combing through to ensure even distribution. The hair is dried again with the product on and then flat ironed in 1/2 inch sections with 7-10 passes of the flat iron, depending on the condition and type of hair.
Aftercare and Maintenance
Once applied the product remains 'active' on your hair for the first 72 hours, before you can then wash it. During the first 72 hours you must not wash or tie-up/style your hair. After 72 hours you should wash and style your hair as you would normally, but you will need to use sulphate-free (sodium chloride free) hair products such as shampoo, conditioner and hair spray, as products which contain sulphates (including hair-dyes), will strip the treatment from your hair. This Keratin treatment slowly washes out of your hair over 3-4 months when following the aftercare advice. Not following the aftercare will reverse the treatment much faster, depending on you actions.
For best results we recommend you have your hair cut prior to the treatment and any colour also applied beforehand. This product will not alter your hair colour, although it may appear more golden for the first 72 hours whilst the product is on your hair. Keeping your hair in tip top shape is really all about maintenance. Deep conditioning treatments and having your ends trimmed will help to extend the keratin blow dry and keep your hair looking fab.

Prices start at £100 for very short hair, up to £150 for thicker and/or longer hair. It would be helpful if you could send us a picture of your hair before your appointment.
